So I've chucked it over in the vids section and I've plastered it all around Facebook but for those six billion, nine hundred and seventy three million, seven hundred and thirty eight thousand, three hundred and one or so of you on the planet that have managed to miss it somehow, here is the video for Fireseeds. Hope you enjoy it!

The tour finds a new venue!

We've finally made it south side! But we really didn't muck about. I think we may have landed in the furthest most pub in southern Canberra. Please correct me if I'm wrong and we will find the new winner and try to score a gig there.Check the gigs page for all the info.

Looks like we might be interrupting some pretty pro golf games though... below is a video of Rob R. from the Calwell Tavern nailing a effin' sweet shot! Looking forward to seeing this sort of action with my own two eyes! Go Rob!

This is harder than Facebook.

I've neglected this little corner of the internet for a while because I'm a lazy slob. It's so much easier to just post stuff on facebook so if you want all the latest info on gigs and the like, pop on over to Hence the Testbed on Facebook and give us a like.

We've got a show coming up on the 18th of August 2112 for Trent's mega birthday blowout of crazyness and awesomery. It should be a pretty epic night so don't miss out. We've got a little something extra we are going play especially for the birthday boy per request. I really hope we don't balls it up.

That's not a picture of Trent. Well it is but it's not the real Trent. He has the same name but a very different drinking style. The REAL Trent always drinks from a visible glass. Well most of the time.

This is not Trent either. Trent is just out of shot doing the moonwalk with his pants over his head drinking a visible drink. The phone chick likes it. A lot.

She's in the can!

Nope, we aren't launching some sort of voyeur fetish site... just yet. What we have done though is finished up the mastering on a little tune called Fireseeds. We were going to record at the awesome Puzzle Factory Sound Studio but even with their amazingly reasonable prices our poor arses couldn't afford it. So we had to do the only thing that good moochers like ourselves do to get by - call  for help from our good friend Dan from Strange Hours fame. We invaded his house and rocked it so hard the dog ran away and his computer blew up.

So with out further blustation, here for your listening pleasure is Fireseeds. Available now on the Triple J Unearthed site. Link it around if you like it!

The Pot Belly had us

Thanks to everyone who came out last night to The Pot Belly, was a blast of a night! ?=? caused some controversy when one of the friendly local lasses wanted to introduce the band. There was a little problem with pronunciation - but after everything was smoothed over the band went on to blow everyones socks off. Not bad for a first gig! It was also indescribably awesome to see Fat Controller get up and do their stuff. A days notice and not jamming together for over a year an a half really agrees with the guys, they sounded amazing! Cheers fellas!

I hope you all had as much fun as we did and we'll see you all next time!

Surprise gig!

Friday the 23rd of March, 2012 we will be heading down to The Pot Belly to have a bit of a strum. It's the gig that everyone forgot... until today. So lets prove all those fuddy-duddies who say careful planing and a long term strategy are the keys to success wrong and have a spontaneously good time! We've got a host of mystery guests showing up and they would be well disappointed not to see you there. Think about it - this day will never happen again in any of our lifetimes so don't be the only one pining for what could have been on your deathbed.

Gigs, gigs, gigs

So, once again, somehow Sam got his hands on the gig booking reins and managed to double book us for the 10th of March, 2012. First stop will be The Basement where we will play our first set at 9pm. Our friends The Bastard Sons of Liberty and TOXICMEN will be there as well doing a clinic on how to go fucking mental on stage and blow peoples minds. Not to be missed.

Sam is then going to rush off and leave us to pack up all the stuff by ourselves so he can play with Mal down at The Pot Belly. The plan then is to meet him down there around 10:30pm to play another set. It's so crazy it just might work. We are going to do 2 different sets so those of you lucky enough to catch both shows will get different songs at each. Yay for content!

Then on the 12th of March, 2012 we are at The Phoenix with Heidegger, Chris Canham and Konrad Lenz. Should be an awesome Canberra birthday night. If anyone manages to make it to all three shows, I'll get you a special, one of a kind tour t-shirt made up.

A lot of people ask about our name

Hence:
As a consequence; for this reason
- a stiff breeze and hence a high windchill
In the future (used after a period of time)
- two years hence they might say something quite different
From here
- hence, be gone

Testbed:
Testbeds allow for rigorous, transparent, and replicable testing of scientific theories, computational tools, and new technologies.

The term is used across many disciplines to describe a development environment that is shielded from the hazards of testing in a live or production environment. A testbed is used as a proof of concept or when a new module is tested apart from the program/system it will later be added to. A skeleton framework is implemented around the module so that the module behaves as if already part of the larger program.

We are experimental but want to deliver a cohesive whole to the listener. Our experiments can get pretty out there so for this reason, we trial stuff first. Hence the Testbed. Also it's a good google search 'cause there isn't much competition. That's probably the main reason truth be told. In fact, all that other stuff is most likely a convenient story.
