I don't think many people can say that they go a day without listening to some form of music. Even if the music you listen to is not your local bands, those bands you are listening to are local to someone else. And without venues to allow these acts to get off the ground, we'd be in a pretty sad state of affairs. Without support from the likes of The Basement Belconnen, Transit Bar, Smith's Alternative, Thepotbelly Barandbistro and all the other great venues this town has seen, we would not have met and played with almost 400 bands from all around the world. That's pretty amazing for a city where they say nothing ever happens. If the opportunity to support the live music scene presents itself to you, please do what you can. Don't let the fools up on the hill tell you what is important to you and what is not. Vote with your heart, feet and ears.
